Versatile Amazon performs as an exceptional landscape and bedding plant, showing outstanding heat tolerance. Semi-hardy annual in zone 7 and milder. It is also an excellent commercial and home garden cut flower. Very dark green, glossy leaves on strong stems are the perfect backdrop to the bright, serrated-edged flowers for a vibrant head-turning show. In landscapes, Amazon grows to about 24 in./60 cm tall; as a Winter greenhouse-grown cut flower crop, height is up to 36 in./45 to 90 cm. Attracts butterflies.
